Our Approach to Helping Children and Adolescents
Strength-Based Practices
By supporting
and reinforcing positive behavior, we can best help children and adolescents
to adapt, adjust, and succeed. We believe in mentoring that includes connecting
children and adolescents to people who offer positive influences, and who help
them to make choices that will affect their lives constructively.
This is called a Strength-Based Approach; it is based on principles
of mutual respect, sharing, collaboration, self-determination, participation,
teamwork, and open communication.
Multidisciplinary Treatment Team
We use a Multidisciplinary Treatment Team approach to working with children,
adolescents, and families. Children and adolescents in our care work with
many different Center staff members, from therapists and nurses to nutritionists
and counselors. Our teams work together to provide the highest degree of
coordination and guidance.
