Become a Foster Parent!
Special Families Foster Care is a fully-licensed Foster
Family Agency
Frequently Asked Questions:
What types of children are placed in SFFC Programs?
SFFC provides treatment-focused foster care for children primarily between the ages of three to eighteen. We
have several different programs that may interest you as a potential foster parent. Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care
(MTFC) for teenagers and pre-school age children focuses on youth in need of a structured home for about one year to help them
prepare to return to their birth family or to another appropriate placement. Our traditional Foster Family Agency (FFA) Program
works with youth in need of both long term and short term placements in a foster home. Our recruitment and certification staff
will be glad to help you determine which program would work best for your family.
What Supports are provided to SFFC Foster Families?
In providing treatment-centered care, our foster family program provides training and continuous social work support.
Our 20 hour pre-service training will help your family make the decision if fostering is right for them and prepare you for
working as an important member of a child’s treatment team. We provided reimbursement to families; up to $1500 per month
depending on the needs of the child placed in your home. We also provide weekly contact with your assigned social worker as well
as 24 hour emergency assistance. We believe in working together as a team, bound by a common purpose…helping kids who
have been hurt to heal.
