Programs and Services | Counseling
Center
All kids act out from time to time, feel sad or angry
or respond to family, friends and school in a way that shows they are
upset, worried or frustrated. Many times these children and teens need
to talk to a person who understands how hard it is sometimes to be
a kid and can offer insight and guidance. The child’s feelings
may come from problems in the family such as martial problems, divorce,
sibling rivalry or other stressful situations like moving homes or
schools.
Located on our campus in Kearny Mesa, the SDCC Counseling Center
can help your child, teen and family members through these tough times. The
goal of our therapists is to move your child toward becoming a productive
adult by providing him or her with the tools to understand and control
emotions and behaviors.
Therapists also work directly with you and family
members, offering guidance on how to interact with the child at home
while providing ongoing support through counseling and education.
The Counseling Center offers individual, group, family and marital counseling.
