East County Outpatient Program
If your child doesn’t need to be removed from his/her school environment completely, but needs some extra guidance, this program can help!
Located in La Mesa and Lemon Grove, the outpatient treatment programs provide services using both traditional and non-traditional school-based interventions that support children and youth at school, at home and in the community. The program serves children and youth ages 5 to 21 that qualify for EPSDT/Medi-Cal services in the Grossmont, Lakeside, Lemon Grove, and La Mesa Spring Valley school districts.
SDCC’s school-based outpatient clinics have been providing Incredible Years programs, in partnership with east county HHSA to children ages 0-8 and their families for the past one and a half years.
How does a child get a referral for an intensive school-based outpatient treatment program?
If your child receives a referral from school, they can be admitted to the intensive outpatient treatment program. The referral begins with your child’s teacher and/or school psychologist contacting the county; then in turn, the San Diego Center for Children is contacted and your child can begin receiving services.
