East County Outpatient Program
If your child doesn’t need to be removed from his/her school environment completely, but needs some extra guidance, this program can help!
Located in La Mesa, the outpatient treatment programs provide services using both traditional and non-traditional school-based interventions that support children and youth at school, at home and in the community. The program serves children and youth ages 5 to 21 that qualify for EPSDT/Medi-Cal services in the Grossmont, Lakeside, Lemon Grove, and La Mesa Spring Valley school districts.
SDCC’s school-based outpatient clinics have been providing Incredible Years programs, in partnership with east county HHSA to children ages 0-8 and their families for the past one and a half years.
How does a child get a referral for an intensive school-based outpatient treatment program?
If your child receives a referral from school, they can be admitted to the intensive outpatient treatment program. The referral begins with your child’s teacher and/or school psychologist contacting the county; then in turn, the San Diego Center for Children is contacted and your child can begin receiving services.
