BenefitsSan Diego Center for Children Total Rewards Program The San Diego Center for Children offers a total rewards program that includes competitive compensation and a complete benefits package. Our benefits package includes medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, long term disability, short term disability, flexible spending accounts, retirement savings, paid time off benefits, holiday pay, employee recognition program, employee referral program, total wellness program, and more. Medical Insurance Medical insurance is offered through ANTHEM BLUE CROSS for all regular full-time employees after 90 days of employment. Providing two HMO plans and one PPO plan offers more options to our valued employees. Dental Insurance Dental insurance is offered through GUARDIAN with Dental HMO and Dental PPO plan options for all full-time employees after 90 days of employment. San Diego Center for Children provides employees with the level of dental coverage that best fits the needs of our employees and their families. PPO plan provides automatic access to a Maximum Rollover account in subsequent years. Vision Insurance Vision insurance is offered through ANTHEM BLUE CROSS for regular full-time employees after 90 days of employment. The benefit is an affordable vision plan using EyeMed network of both private practice and chain providers. In addition to vision plan benefits ANTHEM BLUE CROSS offers 20% off the balance when members select a frame greater than their plan allowance and 15% to 40% off materials not covered by their plan.( i.e. extra pairs of glasses, conventional contact, lens treatments). Group Life Insurance Basic Life Insurance coverage is offered through PRUDENTIAL to all regular full-time and part-time employees on their start date. San Diego Center for Children pays 100% premium for this important protection to provide comfort and security to your loved ones in the event of your death.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage is offered through PRUDENTIAL to all regular full-time and part-time employees on their start date. San Diego Center for Children pays 100% premium. This coverage provides specified benefits for a covered accidental bodily injury that directly causes dismemberment.
Disability Insurance Short Term Disability (STD) coverage and Long Term Disability (LTD) is offered through PRUDENTIAL to all regular full-time and part-time employees on their start date. Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
403(b) Tax-Deferred Retirement Savings Plan The 403(b) Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan is offered through Mutual of America for all regular full-time and part-time employee effective on their start date. A 403(b) plan is available only for non-profit agencies and is the equivalent of a 401(k) plan.
Time Off Benefits San Diego Center for Children provides a generous benefit of PAID TIME OFF with pay to allow employees time away from work for rest, relaxation, and to pursue special interest. All full-time employees are eligible for PTO benefits. Benefit accrual begins on the first day of employment. Employee Assistance Program The EAP program is provided through HORIZON HEALTH offering confidential counseling and referral services to all employees effective your start date. This program offers 5 face to face visits per incident, unlimited telephonic access, and a 24 hour crisis response by licensed counselors available seven days a week. Our Team is Talking! Heidi Henson Hi, my name is Heidi Henson and I've been working at the San Diego Center for Children, East County Day Treatment with the elementary school kids since June 2008 as a Child Development Counselor. After completing my Bachelors in Social Work, I wanted a job where I could utilize my learned skills as well as build upon my current knowledge of the field. I was lucky enough to come across a job posting for a Child Development Counselor at ECDT and get hired. At SDCC it was easy to see that I would be able to fulfill my passion of working with children with special needs. SDCC gave me the opportunity to work in an environment where I would be able to help kids in need. Seeing the growth and positive change in kids and families has been incredibly rewarding, which is what keeps me working at SDCC. Also, I have been able to work with and be a part of a supportive and cooperative team. My experience at SDCC has helped me to further develop my skills and hone in on a specialty area that I want to study further. SDCC has aided me in choosing a graduate school program that I started in February. In addition, through my employment at SDCC, I have learned to reach a level of patience and understanding for the clients served at ECDT. The team I work with at ECDT is cohesive, supportive and we have strong bonds. We have become good friends and the support system we have formed has been a huge success factor at our location. We are a small team, only six people, and it has been imperative that we work together and support each other. I feel extremely fortunate to be working with such wonderful individuals. The best thing about working at SDCC is being provided the opportunity to help children and families as well as being able to see positive changes in the population served. I would recommend SDCC to my friends as a good place to work because of the warm and uplifting environment as well as the benefit and satisfaction of helping people. |
