If you’ve visited the Center lately, you may have noticed the collection barrels and boxes encouraging food donations on behalf of the San Diego Food Bank. This food drive was spearheaded by Landon, one of the teens in our Clark Adolescent Residential program.
Landon has been working closely with his therapist and other key staff to find a way to link his passion for helping others with some of his behavior goals – which included taking responsibility, not bullying and getting along with his peers. That’s when Landon mentioned his desire to organize a food drive.
With the help of two peers and a counselor from his cottage, Landon has shown dedication to this project by enthusiastically telling everyone in sight about the drive, collaborating with all staff and departments, creating flyers and even organizing a box-decorating contest.
We are proud of Landon for taking such wonderful initiative to make an impact in his community – way to go Landon!
