The Maternity Shelter Program provides safe, secure and supportive housing with intensive case management services for pregnant and parenting young women who are between 18 and 24 years old, and their dependent children. These women are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless.
Holiday Meals (San Diego Rescue Mission)
Three times each year on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, San Diego Rescue Mission opens its doors to the homeless, poor and lonely men, women and children in the San Diego Community. These special events offer hundreds of home-cooked meals and entertainment for those who might otherwise have no food, companionship or celebration during the holidays. In addition to meals, guests are provided praise and worship music and small care packages. Items for children include toys, hygiene products and clothing.
Hand Up Youth Food Pantry
The Hand Up Food Pantry focuses on helping people get back on their feet. Not only do we provide food to thousands of San Diegans facing hunger, but by including case managers at distribution sites we open the door to the array of vital services offered at Jewish Family Service. The Hand Up Youth Food Pantry delivers food to several locations throughout San Diego County. Food is distributed once a week at St. Paul’s Cathedral downtown, once a month at Camp Pendleton and Murphy Canyon Military Housing, and as needed to our clients at Chabad Downtown, College Avenue Center, Foodmobile, JFS Turk Family Center, and JFS North County Coastal office.

Golden Hill Certified Farmers Market
The Golden Hill Farmers Market is mainly frequented by locals meaning you’ll get to beat most of the crowds and long lines that are characteristic of some of the other San Diego Farmers markets. The vendors provide basic offerings such as fresh organic and locally grown produce, tasty snacks and meal options such as hummus and pita chips, kombucha, crepes, tamales and grilled meats. Some popular vendors with the locals are those cooking up filipino and New Orleans inspired dishes. There is even a stand geared towards dogs where they sell a lot of treats, making this perfect for a Saturday morning stroll with your dog.
(Open Saturdays from 9:30am -1:30pm)
