The Dental Health Initiative/ Share the Care (DHI/STC) program is a public-private partnership between the County of San Diego and Human Services Agency, the San Diego County Dental and Dental Hygienists’ Societies, and the San Diego County Dental Health Coalition and is focused on optimizing oral health for the children of San Diego County. 

Services:

(1) No-cost dental care for pregnant women and children ages 0-5 years (2) Preventive services, such as sealant clinics, in neighborhood-based programs (3) Resources and materials for parents, children, educators, care providers, and community-based organizations (4) Free or reduced-cost emergency dental care for children of families with limited resources through a network of pro-bono dentists (5) Technical support and community mobilization.

Payment Options:

Eligibility:

(1) Uninsured children ages 0-5 years (less than 6 years) who have not yet entered kindergarten (children on Share of Cost Medi-Cal may be covered while meeting their share of cost) (2) Uninsured pregnant women through 90 days (3 months) postpartum. (3) Pregnant women on Denti-Cal.
