8 West/ Urban Street Angels

8 West is a sustainable program with a foundation based on the simple premise of “hope”. When you restore hope, the human spirit becomes indomitable. We not only help homeless youth re-discover what it means to have hope, but the long-term impact of our “homeless to hopeful” model also results in positive, deeply recursive effects throughout the community.

Able-Disabled Advocacy’s mission is “to provide vocational skills training and educational advancement for youth and adults with disabilities and to assist them in finding employment and overcoming barriers to personal and financial self-sufficiency.”

Access Inc.

Access, Inc.’s Youth Programs are funded by the San Diego Workforce Partnership providing work readiness and employment options in a wide variety of activities to ensure that all youth have the skills and training they need to successfully make the transition to adulthood and careers.

Access to Independence

Access to Independence is an independent living center and a nonresidential, cross-disability, non-profit corporation that provides services to people with disabilities to help maximize their independence and fully integrate into their communities. We have created a new paradigm for independent living, an integrated service model driven by two areas of focus: Advocacy and Transition.

The Arc of San Diego is one of the largest, most comprehensive providers of services to children and adults with disabilities in San Diego County. All our programs promote social, economic, and personal independence.

Brightwood College

At our San Diego campus, as well as our other Brightwood Colleges in California, your education extends beyond the classroom. Our programs are designed to furnish you with knowledge and skills for the real world. Taught by dedicated instructors with working experience, our courses offer insight into what your new career may hold. In addition, our externship and clinical opportunities can further prepare you for the day-to-day situations you may encounter in the workplace. Programs include allied health, criminal justice, nursing and continuing education courses.

California College San Diego is a private, independent educational institution dedicated to providing you with the knowledge and training you need for success in your chosen career. As an accredited school that focuses on student needs, you can be confident CCSD will provide you an education that allows you to capitalize on your full potential. You can earn a degree in a variety of specialized areas through the healthcare, graphic arts, business, and information technology programs at California College San Diego. Associate’s and bachelor’s degrees are offered, depending on the program you choose. And you can achieve an associate’s degree in 20 months or less, and a bachelor’s degree in 36 months or less, depending on your major.

California Conservation Corps.

The CCC is a state department that puts young people and the environment together for the benefit of both. Corpsmembers are young men and women between the ages of 18-25 (and veterans to age 29) who sign up for a challenging year of service to California, working to improve the state’s natural resources and communities. Young people join from counties statewide. As of 2015, the top five counties from which young people have joined:  Los Angeles, San Bernardino, San Diego, Sacramento, & Fresno # of corpsmember positions in 2015- 16: 1587 serving more than 3,000 young people annually.
