San Diego County Regional Occupational Program

The San Diego County Regional Occupational Program (ROP) provides occupational training courses to help individuals acquire entry level job skills, upgrade or retrain, and/or prepare for advanced technical training. ROP Centers provide information about courses. Services include training in job seeking/keeping skills. Program duration for typical successful client may be up to 1 year.

Dollars for Scholars ( Fostering Opportunities Scholarship Fund)

Fostering Opportunity Scholarship Fund’s (FOSF) goal is to expand the educational opportunities for foster students by providing financial support for their higher education endeavors. We pair our scholarship recipients with mentors, who can lend supportive ear and offer advice, as each student transitions into their new environment and meets the challenges of higher education.

Rady Children’s Hospital

Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego is a nonprofit, 551-bed pediatric-care facility dedicated to excellence in care, research and teaching:

  • We are the only hospital in the San Diego area dedicated exclusively to pediatric healthcare and the region’s only designated pediatric trauma center.
  • In affiliation with the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, we are the region’s teaching hospital for the next generation of pediatric physicians.

Speak Up Now – Voices for Childrean

Voices for Children transforms the lives of abused children in San Diego County by providing them with volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA’s). They believe that every child deserves a safe and permanent home, and to that end, will review and monitor every court file in the system.

Foster Club

Foster Club is dedicated to providing a peer support network for children and youth in foster care. Further, they believe that the experiences young people have in foster care place them in a position to effect change within the system, inform and motivate their peers, build public awareness and create public will for improved care for abused and neglected children. Foster Club is about providing youth a voice within the system that so heavily impacts their lives; Whether advocating on their own behalf, in concern for siblings or family members, or speaking out on behalf of their 400,000 peers currently in the system.

A Home Within

A Home Within is the only national organization dedicated to solely meeting the emotional health of foster youth. They recruit mental health professionals who volunteer to care for them by creating and supporting lasting, caring relationships, free of charge. “One child, one therapist, for as long as it takes.”

Southeast Mental Health Center

This facility provides mental health services by assisting adults with a Domestic Violence Safety Plan, Emergency and Crisis Mental Health Services, Mental Health Administration, Outpatient Mental Health Centers and San Diego County Domestic Violence Hotline.
