Founded in 1887, the Center is the oldest children’s nonprofit organization in the San Diego region. Today, the Center is a leader in providing therapeutic and educational services to over 1,000 children and families every day in San Diego County.  We offer many programs through our Continuum of Behavioral Healthcare for children struggling with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.

Our Team

The Center employs over 350 professionals and has grown into one of San Diego’s most trusted organizations in the behavioral and mental health care field.  As a trauma-informed organization, we strive to understand and meet the important needs of children and families we serve through excellence, collaboration and compassion.  We expect all future employees to be committed to our vision, mission and values.

In addition to our focus of supporting the needs of people we serve, we are equally committed to the health and well-being of our employees.  We are proud to have Silver recognition in the American Heart Association Workplace Health Achievement Index*.

Our bond is incredibly amazing and he is doing great today. There is so much more to my story, but I believe I make a difference and that is what keeps me going.”
