Volunteer Opportunities

JoyMakers make a positive impact on the children, teens and families we serve. By providing a unique blend of volunteerism, and by raising awareness, in-kind and monetary donations throughout the year, our JoyMakers continue to make an incredible impact toward our mission. If you or your group are interested in a JoyMakers project listed below, please contact Warren Johnson, Development Manager, at (858) 634-8346 or wjohnson@centerforchildren.org.

Help us collect new school supplies to benefit the youth we serve throughout San Diego. More information and wish-list at www.CenterforChildren.org/ready

Help us on Friday, October 4th at Rancho Bernardo Inn. Event information is at www.SDCCKidsClassic.com. Email wjohnson@centerforchildren.org for volunteer details and opportunities.

Many of the children and families we serve are not only dealing with mental health issues that affect their family’s dynamic and individual well-being, but they’re also dealing with the stress of how they’re going to put food on the table due to the severe lack of resources. By providing a basket (or grocery bag) of nonperishable food items along with a grocery store gift card, you will help alleviate daily stressors for families and create joy for them as they spend time preparing and sharing meals together.

  • Provide a food basket for a family of 4. Non-perishable food items (e.g.: rice, beans, canned vegetables, boxed potatoes) and a gift certificate to a local grocery store to purchase a turkey and other perishable items.

Bring your team to help beautify our main campus for youth at the Center. Prior groups have done light painting or landscaping. Contact us to discuss!
