Victim Assistance Program

Victim Services offer comprehensive services to victims and witnesses of all types of crimes. Assistance is provided from the moment the crime occurs for as long as assistance is needed; there is no cutoff for assistance by the program. There are mandatory victim services and optional victim services offered. There are 8 victim service locations throughout San Diego. 

Mandatory Victim Services:

(2) Emergency assistance
(3) Resource and referral assistance
(4) Direct follow-up counseling
(5) Property return assistance
(6) Orientation to the Criminal Justice System
(7) Court escort & court support
(8) Case status & case disposition information
(9) Notification of family and friends
(10) Employer notification
(11) Victim of crime claims assistance

Optional Victim Services:
(1) Creditor Intervention
(2) Child care
(3) Restitution information
(4) Witness notification
(5) Funeral and burial arrangements
(6) Crime prevention information
(7) Temporary restraining order information
