Interfaith Shelter Network: Rotational Shelter
The Network involves over 120 congregations of all denominations county-wide in a Rotational Shelter program. About 70 of the congregations host the program in their facilities for two or four weeks a year and the remainder serve in a valuable support role, providing volunteers for meals and overnight hosting, transportation and donations.

Interfaith: El Nido Program
El Nido (“the nest” in Spanish) is our transitional living program for homeless victims of domestic violence and their families. Located in central San Diego, in a safe, confidential location, the project offers stability in housing while allowing residents to offer emotional support to each other and reduce isolation during this stressful time in their lives. It also is respectful of residents’ autonomy and provides as close to a real-life scenario as possible. Residents live in an 11-unit apartment complex for up to a year or more and, with the assistance of social workers, obtain the counseling, child care, employment, educational, and transportation services they need to become self-sufficient. Each of the units was beautifully furnished by a local congregation.

New Alternatives: Transitional Housing Program Plus (THP+)
The mission of New Alternatives- Transitional Housing Program Plus (THP+) is to assist and empower former foster and probation youth as they transition into adulthood by providing safe and affordable housing and comprehensive, individualized support services. As a participant-driven program, THP+ supports youth in fostering their unique talents. THP+ affords participants the greatest amount of freedom while actively working toward personal goals.

New Haven Youth and Family Services
New Haven offers a day treatment program and a residential treatment program that runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week in 12 six-bed residences throughout Vista, Oceanside and San Marcos. Our program works to engage and instruct youth who have been unsuccessful in public school due to behavioral, mental health, substance abuse, learning disabilities and/or truancy problems.

New Haven Youth and Family Services: Transitional Living Program
At New Haven, we recognize that many of our aging out youth face limited options that could jeopardize their healthy growth. Our transitional living program helps young men gain necessary independence, resources and work skills. Our homes are in proximity to North County colleges for this program to allow the young men to work, live, and grow in an environment that offers them stability as they continue their journey into adulthood.

North County Lifeline: LifeSpring House
The LifeSpring House and Apartments provide transitional housing for young people turning 18 and aging out of the foster care system. We provide housing for up to two years for young adults ages 18-24 as they cross the bridge between foster living and full independence. Life Spring also helps support residents’ young families with housing, as well as employment and financial goals.

Nueva Vida Haven
While San Diego sleeps, our staff is on duty serving as many as 60 women and children each night. Many are homeless and/or battered. Without Nueva Vida Haven, many would be alone on the streets.

Salvation Army: Emergency Shelter
Emergency shelters and transitional living centers provide housing, food, and overnight lodging for varying amounts of time to those in need. In addition, they provide educational, counseling and vocational services to homeless, destitute individuals and families, and youth where family care is undesirable or unavailable.
